Incident Details: This is a message from the Shell Manufacturing Centre in Corunna for Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 12:15 p.m. At approximately noon we experienced a unit upset. As a result, the community may notice intermittent flaring and noise for the next 12 hours. The flare system is an important process safety device at the refinery and is a normal and vital part of unit shutdown and start-up activities. Should you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the refinery at 519-481-1245.
