Clean Air Sarnia & Area

Visit CASA

The Clean Air Sarnia & Area (CASA) website provides the public with near real-time data about air quality in the Sarnia area.

Formed in 2015, CASA is a partnership with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP), the Aamjiwnaang First Nation (AFN), and BASES Environmental Monitoring. The site displays air monitoring readings from 14 air monitoring stations across the region.

The CASA site is designed as a tool to give the community a clear understanding of local air quality, including how it compares to Ontario’s standards. It provides hourly, daily, and monthly reports, as well as resources to help people better understand the science of air quality and how monitoring systems work.

Unlike computer models that estimate emissions, CASA data reflects actual air quality measured in the community. This allows residents, researchers, and decision-makers to see both short-term conditions and long-term trends, offering valuable insight into how air quality changes over time.

We invite the community to explore the data and resources provided on the CASA website to learn more about air quality in the region and how they can become involved in the Clean Air Sarnia & Area initiative.
